Your account & preferences

Settings is where you configure your account and how the app looks: the interface language, the theme, the copy of your data and deleting the account. They are personal options, not options of a particular project, and some travel with your account while others stay in this browser.

Interface language

Switch the app language in Settings. It’s separate from the project language, which only affects how the voice is generated.

Light or dark theme

Toggle between light and dark theme from the user menu. The app remembers your choice.

What follows you to another device and what does not

The interface language is stored in your account: there are six (Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, Italian and Chinese) and the one you pick comes with you when you sign in from another computer. The light or dark theme, on the other hand, is stored only in this browser and starts out dark, so it may not match from one machine to another.

Signing out

Sign out from the user menu. Your projects and settings remain in your account when you log back in.

Exporting my data

In Settings you can download a copy of your account data (profile, projects and settings). It doesn’t include the audio, which lives in your browser or your cloud.

What is inside the data file

“Download my data” hands you a JSON file whose name carries the date of the day you download it. Inside go your profile, your settings, every project with its characters, their assigned voices and their clips, the log of calls to the providers and the list of audios synced with your cloud. It does not include the audio or your API keys, because those are not on the server.

Deleting your account

The danger zone in Settings lets you delete your account and all your server data. It’s irreversible and will ask for your password to confirm.

Computers with the desktop engine

If you use the desktop app, Settings has a table, “Desktop TTS devices”, with the name of each computer, its version, when you added it and when it last connected. Revoking one takes away its access to your account; to use it again you will have to activate it once more from that computer.
